Other:
This is another Buffalo Diamond type of slot machine and it’s every bit as volatile. It’s not nearly as common to find.
Here, you’re chasing four different gems: green, blue, purple, and rainbow.
I don’t even look at the rainbow gem when considering plays, as it comes so infrequently that it’s not worth trying to factor in. In fact, I once saw a couple chasing a rainbow gem on a $2.25 bet and they were on it for well over 24 hours and probably had tens of thousands of dollars invested.
Even chasing a solo purple is asking for trouble and unless I really want comps, I play only for a purple as part of a green-purple or blue-purple combo, where I can hop off after hitting either end of it.
Here’s what the game looks like:
The bets are as follows: $1, $2.25, $3.75, $7. And I want the following solo numbers for each (some pros will want a little higher for all of these numbers):
$1: 40 green, 65 blue
$2.25: 35 green, 55 blue
$3.75: 27 green, 50 blue
$7: 22 green, 40 blue
Here’s how much money you should bring for each (these are conservative suggestions … it won’t normally cost nearly this much):
$1: green ($400), blue ($1,200)
$2.25: green ($900), blue ($2,700)
$3.75: green ($1,500), blue ($4,500)
$7: green ($2,800), blue ($8,400)
If you happen to see a massive purple that you want to solo-chase, first, Godspeed. Second, bring 2,000x the bet. So if you see a purple max bet at over 100 gems, let’s say, bring $14,000 with you. Of course, chasing purples on lower bets requires higher numbers, just like with Buffalo Diamond. That’s because when you do get a bonus on lower bets, there are more chances to not even land a color and instead win usually useless free games.
You can also play for combos. Use your imagination a little for this inexact science, but something like a 30 green with a 50 blue on $1 gets my attention. Or 18 green with a 38 blue on $3.75. If you’re feeling frisky, something like a 38 blue with a 76 purple on $2.25 would be fun if you find extreme swings fun. With whatever combo you decide on, make sure to leave after hitting either end of it.
Three wheel and/or moon symbols in adjacent reels gives you a bonus. They need to be in the first three reels, which can be a pain at times and give you some epic wheel droughts. And because the base game normally doesn’t pay much for line hits, we’re playing only for the bonus on this slot.
Also, only the max bet of $7 guarantees you at least a green on a wheel. For the three other bets, you can get a wheel, land on the free games option and have to keep spinning for whatever color(s) you’re chasing after that free games bonus ends.
Further, despite the game sometimes bleeding you dry, you can completely air-ball the bonus once you finally do hit the color you’re chasing. Of course, you can also land on something like a very low green and have it pay you enormously if you’re lucky enough to connect on a couple of multipliers. It’s a one- or two-spin kind of game and if you don’t get those favorable spins, you’re often out a lot of money unless you hit your color early.
I paint such a gloomy picture because I want to get across how volatile this game can be, even if good numbers pay off over a large sample.
