Some pros call this game “Moneyball” for short. Some pros want higher than 14, depending on the casino.
For this one, you’re looking only at the money balls green pot:
In the example above, we’re at a nowhere close five. For a minimum play, I go with 14. Some looser grinders play 13s, but 14 seems like a better target. And as stated above, one tighter pro I know wants 17 or even 18 at certain casinos. Good luck finding that consistently!
I originally thought the game was uncapped, which is always a scary word in slots, but it’s not:
It turns out, the number can’t exceed 48. What a strange maximum number! That said, it’s exceedingly rare to get close to this number and even getting into the 30s is uncommon. Also, it’s not a “must-hit” at 48, so you can even be spinning for a little while when you’re on 48.
As you spin, you occasionally add money balls, which increase the number on the corresponding green pot. Losing 100 bets is bad, but it’s not impossible. If you got really unlucky and took it all the way to 48 (which happens maybe once every couple hundred times), you’d likely lose closer to 300-400 bets.
There are three different bonuses, including the jackpot bonus, the free games, and the money balls. Pay no attention to the size of the chest or the pile of gold; they have no effect on the likelihood that anything will hit.
For the jackpot bonus, you pick among a grouping of 15 coins and end up winning the mini or minor most times. At least they can sometimes be multiplied, so winning something like 5x the mini is possible.
For the free games bonus, you’re given eight free spins and can trigger the other bonuses within this one. It’s also fairly easy to add more games to the initial eight you start with. For instance, some spins award three extra free spins.
For the money balls (again, the only thing you can actually chase), the balls you’ve collected eventually pop out and cover the screen and they can be multiplied. You’re then awarded whatever numbers are imprinted on the balls.
