Minimum Play:

At least 2/3 of the symbols and at least 3,125 ways with at least eight pink gems. Or all three symbols and at least 3,125 ways with gems not mattering. Or 2/3 of the symbols and the max number of ways (7,776) with the gems not mattering.

Other:

There’s a lot to take in with this one, the edge isn’t great, and it’s quite volatile.

Let me spell out the different types of minimum plays:

Take a look at this example from the Raider version. I have one out of three symbols, the max number of ways (7,776), and five pink gems:

This isn’t enough to play. If I have one more symbol along with the max number of ways, I play. Or if I have two symbols, 3,125 or more ways, and at least eight pink gems instead of five. Or all three symbols and 3,125 or more ways.

How about this one from the Queen version?

I have 10 pink gems (good), but just one of three symbols (bad) and 3,125 ways (decent):

So close, but I’m just short of meeting my minimum-play requirements.

All right, so why does any of this stuff matter? Well, when you get a bonus, granted courtesy of blue or white pearls and comes randomly, you spin a wheel. Often, you land on the lowest gem (pink). So having the reset of five pink gems gives you a smaller chance of winning anything of substance.

Suppose you land on the pink gems and you have 3/3 symbols collected and a high number of ways. Then you spin with a larger board than normal with better-paying symbols, often resulting in an above-average bonus compared to what the reset figures would be.

Don’t worry about the blue, green, and red gems. Sure, it’s nice if the blue especially is inflated above its reset of 10, but it’s uncommon to hit anything over pink, so playing for any of those as part of a potential combo play is dangerous.

Further still, don’t pay attention to the two cats in various stages of dress. As you spin, sometimes more gold is revealed and it may look like you’re close to triggering something, but that’s all for show.

The game is called Knock Knock Guardians, because the cats actually knock the doors behind them to trigger the bonus. It’s also possible for them to both knock at the same time, which can lead to some solid wins if you smash a spin or two and have the required symbols and number of ways before playing.

As noted, this is a tough game and you can still lose quite a bit even with primo finds, so if you do play it, you want to make sure you aren’t playing it too early.

I don’t have a video for either game yet, so here’s a clip courtesy of Shinobi Slots:
