Advantage Slots

Some people don’t believe in this slot, but I’m hooked. Yes, the advantage isn’t huge and you normally don’t get to the bonus you’re seeking, but when it’s usually a few spins at risk and the bonus can pay big, I’m a fan.

It’s also a simple one to explain:

As you go through each bet — the example above happens to be a max bet — all you’re looking for is that DNA-looking symbol with the word “bonus!” on it. It will either be directly above reel two or reel four, and it’s in reel four in this case.

In the other reel, two in this example, there will be a counter with how many chances you have to land another DNA symbol and get to the bonus. Here, it’s at the max of five, which just means you have five chances to spin for another DNA symbol.

I mentioned in the risk scale that you’re sometimes betting upward of 15 times because at times that counter will reset back to five, which can be a blessing and a curse. It’s great if you hit it, but of course you’re paying for all those spins.

Once you hit the bonus, you get taken to this fun grid where you then pick through a bunch of bugs trapped in amber, which move you up, down, left, right, or diagonally. Don’t worry too much, as this is all predetermined.

The goal is to stay on the grid for as long as you can and land on a bunch of high-paying dinosaur symbols. If you stay on the board for 10 spins, you win the $10,000-plus jackpot. Like with a lot of these games, you’ll get to spin eight or nine too often to count. So close!
