Jungle Riches and Reef of Riches
Similar Games:
None
Risk Scale:
Yellow (usually not more than 100x)
Minimum Play:
Four tiles or fewer. If the remaining tiles happen to be in the first three reels, I’d even play with up to eight.
Other:
The bonus is usually underwhelming, but every now and then you’ll really smash it.
As far as advantage games go, these have been around for some time, but a lot of casinos don’t offer them. Here’s what Jungle Riches looks like (Reef of Riches has a pirate theme):
It’s hard to tell in that photo, so let me blow up the part you should be looking at:
No, not “Gambling No Longer Fun? Help Is Available.” The part below that where it shows how many tiles are left for each bet, going from $0.50 to $2.50. In this example, we see 15, 19, 16, 19, and 17. Trust me, it’s easier to see when you’re at the machine (and my video shows this clearly as well).
For an advantage, I usually look for four tiles or fewer, so our example doesn’t have anything close. I write “usually,” because it also depends a bit on where on the board the tiles are located. Tiles are much more likely to break when they’re closer to the left side of the board, so if only four are left, but they happen to all be in the fourth and fifth reels, you’re starting to get into gambling territory, even with just four remaining.
Conversely, suppose you have seven or eight tiles left, but they all happen to be in the first three reels. I’d feel better about playing that than four tiles left all in the fourth and fifth reels. But to keep things as simple as possible, let’s stick with calling a play four or fewer tiles.
Now, Jungle Riches and Reef of Riches aren’t exact clones like a lot of machines I’ve grouped together. But in the interest of keeping things simple, you can treat a minimum play the same way. Here’s what Reef of Riches looks like if you’re interested:
All right, you finally broke that last tile. Now what? Well, you’ve reached the bonus! However, this bonus can pay surprisingly badly, considering all the work that’s often needed to reach it in the first place.
You’re given five free games in Jungle Riches and seven free games in Reef of Riches and the goal is to retrigger by landing flamingos and mermaids, respectively. Those symbols also act as wilds and can lead to some huge line hits when you have a healthy grouping of them.
I’ve seen hand pays on $2.50 bets, but I’ve also seen a bonus pay 1x the bet. You’ll usually be much closer to 1x the bet than 500x as far as payouts go.
