Grand Buddha Link and Grand Cat Link
Similar Games:
Lucky Buddha and Lucky Wealth Cat
Risk Scale:
Green (generally under 10x the bet; sometimes will reset and be around 25 on the high end)
Minimum Play:
At least two active symbols on the left side (Buddha, cat, dragon). Ideal if it’s two on the left plus at least one on the right too (ace, king, queen).
Other:
Unsurprisingly, this plays like Lucky Buddha and Lucky Wealth Cat, but with a bigger board (think Ocean Magic Grand vs. Ocean Magic), the minimum play requirement is a little higher.
In my video, which can be seen at the end of this blurb, I was doing a little experimenting for the most part since I hadn’t seen the game before. These days (2026), you’ll see Grand Buddha Link and Grand Cat Link in many casinos.
For the original version of the game (Lucky Buddha and Lucky Wealth Cat), I recommended the following: My minimum play is a Buddha (top symbol), plus two active crappy symbols on the right. I also play any other symbol on the left (cat, dragon) with three active symbols on the right. And I play any two symbols on the left, regardless of what’s on the right.
With a bigger board and also the ability to hit unplanned wheel bonuses at a seemingly higher rate, I’m recommending the following for Grand Buddha Link and Grand Cat Link: At least two active symbols on the left side (Buddha, cat, dragon), with ideally at least one on the right too (ace, king, queen):
What do I mean by “active”? Let me zoom in on the important part of this photo:

In the example above, you can see I have eight spins under the green dragon/turtle figure, six under the cat, seven under the A, and seven under the Q. A symbol would not be active if it had a zero underneath, so in this case all four symbols are active. For our purposes when evaluating minimum plays, this meets our requirement because we have two active symbols on the left side (dragon and cat), along with some extras on the right.
You’d spin at least six times (cat has six), with the possibility for more if things recycle (more on that later).
You might also notice the symbols have multipliers next to them. The Buddha is 8x, the dragon 6x, the cat 5x (on this version of the game), and the A/K/Q 3x. That’s why those left-side symbols are more valuable — higher multipliers. Any line hit you register with an active symbol will be multiplied by the corresponding number. Of course, the 8x symbols offer the highest ceiling on line hits but also don’t seem to hit as frequently as the 6x and 5x symbols.
It’s possible something like an active 8x plus three active symbols on the right would be worth playing as well:
I’ll blow that one up too:

But for now to keep it simple, I’m sticking with at least two active symbols on the left side, with ideally at least one on the right. If you do connect on a line hit involving A/K/Q, it’s normally to just get your bet back or perhaps even just a fraction of it back. That can add up over a large sample, though.
With a bigger board in this version of the game, you’ll quite often add more symbols and refresh your existing symbols as you spin since this game will do that any time you register a spin that gives you even a part of your bet back. For that reason, I noted that some plays could take 25 or so spins if that keeps happening. That would be rare.
How about something like this? Should you play?

I’d pass. The Buddha is not active (has a zero). You do have four active symbols, including the cat, but on this bigger version of the game, I’d move on from something like this. Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos of the other version of this game yet, Grand Cat Link.
This is not the type of game you’re going to crush all that often, as “grand slam” finds will often still result in small losses. And even if you do get lucky and hit an unplanned wheel bonus, that too often disappoints. Still, just one or two smashes on line hits will make up for a whole lot of losing, so it’s worth seeking this game out.
Also, pay no attention to the gold coins in the various dishes. Those don’t impact anything and are just for show. Don’t worry about the size of the mini, minor, maxi, major, or grand, either. If you get lucky and back into an unplanned wheel bonus and hit one of those, God bless. That’s not something you can base a potential play around.
Here’s my aforementioned video, where I was learning a bit as I was playing:
