Minimum Play:

$0.75: 38+ green, 110+ blue, 160+ purple/$1.60: 35+ green, 90+ blue, 140+ purple/$2.50: 30+ green, 82+ blue, 120+ purple/$4.00: 24+ green, 45+ blue, 100+ purple.

I’ve emptied my wallet twice playing slots. Both times it was on Buffalo Diamond.

Here’s what Buffalo Diamond looks like:

What do I mean above with the risk depending on the color and bet size? Well, the bets look like this:

You don’t even need to do any clicking through, as the bets and their corresponding numbers are right in front of you. Notice how the $0.75, $1.60, $2.50, and $4.00 bets have three numbers in green, blue, and purple (some call the top one yellow). For each bet, there are mostly agreed-upon minimum numbers pros will play them at, as follows:

$0.75: 38+ green, 110+ blue, 160+ purple

$1.60: 35+ green, 90+ blue, 140+ purple

$2.50: 30+ green, 82+ blue, 120+ purple

$4.00: 24+ green, 45+ blue, 100+ purple

If any of the numbers you see are above the ones outlined here, you can play. In the photo above, the blue on the $1.60 bet is 90, so that’s worth playing.

Many pros also play combos, chasing two or even all three gems that are close and leaving after any color is hit. It would be too tedious to list every possible combo here, but they generally involve green-blues, since purple is most often a moonshot, especially on the lower bets.

Something like a $0.75 28 green, 75 blue would be a fair combo to consider chasing. You’re usually going to hit green before blue, but the green at least isn’t worlds away from 38, and you have a nice blue if you get lucky and back into that. Another example: 22 green, 65 blue on $1.60 or 17 green, 60 blue on $2.50. Those are some common types of combos many pros will play.

Of the colors, green is the easiest to hit, followed by blue and then purple. And the lower the bet, the less likely you are to hit a color at all when you get to the bonus. Because of that, here is what I would recommend bringing with you to the casino for each bet and color to safely finish the play should it go badly, which it certainly can at times:

$0.75: green ($500), blue ($2,000), purple ($5,000)

$1.60: green ($1,200), blue ($4,500), purple ($6,000)

$2.50: green ($2,000), blue ($6,000), purple ($8,000)

$4.00: green ($2,000), blue ($6,000), purple ($10,000)

The amounts needed might look outrageous, but the worst thing you could do is invest a lot of money, have cobwebs left in your wallet and need to make the walk of shame out of the casino. I know firsthand, as this has happened to me with this game…twice!

Do not play this one if you are planning on bringing a couple hundred to the casino.

For the bonus, you need three or more wheel coins. So simple yet so hard. Now, even after hitting a wheel, you are only guaranteed a color on the $4 max bet. If you hit a wheel on the lower bets, there’s a good chance you just get 10 or 15 free games, which will usually not pay much and won’t end the play.

Numbers-wise, the green gem will multiply all wins by 2x, the blue by 3x and purple by 4x. It’s a classic one- or two-spin kind of game, where just one or two huge hits could make or break the play. It’s perhaps the most volatile advantage game in the casino, so best of luck if you take it on.
