Dragon Lights Gold

Eternal Peaks and Imperial Tides

Similar Games:

Dragon Lights (Mystical Falls, Secret Fortress, Fortune Skies)

Risk Scale:

Red (300x for the mini, 600x for the minor, and 1,400x for the major)

Minimum Play:

I recommend the following: 30 mini, 40 minor, 65 major. I’d also play combos; something like a 20 mini with a 30 minor. Or an 18 mini with a 45 major would be another example. Leave after hitting either end of a combo play.

Other:

Chasing the mega often gets you in trouble.

Dragon Lights Gold is not a whole lot different than the original Dragon Lights. Yes, there is a secondary feature that the original did not have: a “gold” free games and wilds option. Some wins will be increased with a gold upgrade, which happens by chance.

Like always when new features are added, you are paying for it one way or another. Often, line hits in the base game and bonus pay less. Whatever the case, because of a secondary feature not present in the original, we can’t use the exact minimum numbers as we had previously.

Because this is a relatively new game that most folks don’t have an adequate sampling with, including yours truly, I am going with ballpark estimates for now on each of the numbers. In the months ahead, it’s possible these will be slightly adjusted, but even if they are, I’m confident my recommendations won’t be way off from +EV.

For now, I recommend the following: 30 mini, 40 minor, 65 major. I’d also play combos; something like a 20 mini with a 30 minor. Or an 18 mini with a 45 major would be another example. Leave after hitting either end of a combo play, assuming the other number isn’t within solo-chase range.

Here’s what the game looks like:

You might notice I didn’t include a number for the red mega. If you’re chasing that, first off, good luck! All the numbers cap at 200, but it’s not a must-hit at 200. So even if you found some otherworldly number like 188 on the mega, it’s not like it will automatically trigger once it reaches 200.

This is an uncapped progressive, much like a Buffalo Diamond type of game, and it’s every bit as volatile. If you wanted to chase the mega on Dragon Lights Gold once it reaches around 140 or so, that may be profitable long term. I’m sure some other pros would play it much lower, perhaps at around 100, but trust me when I say it could get horrendously expensive in a hurry.

You’ll note I had the following bankroll recommendations above: 300x for the mini, 600x for the minor, and 1,400x for the major. So suppose you’re betting the $6 max on this game. That would come out to needing $1,800 to safely take on the mini, $3,600 for the minor, and $8,400 for the major. There may be rare times when you’ll need even more for the three.

What would you need to bring for a mega chase? Let’s say at least 3,000 times the bet, so on a $6 bet, that would be $18,000. Sure, you could also hit it third spin and make a killing. But you need to overprepare for the absolute worst with these types of uncapped progressives, especially if you’re considering something as diabolic as a mega chase.

Like with the original version of this game, do not pay attention to some numbers that have flames around them. You could have flames surrounding all four numbers on a bet, and that play may still be worlds away from being profitable long term. Here’s what the bottom of the screen looks like, which conveniently shows all the numbers:

As with the original, the goal is to land two Dragon Lights symbols and either a wheel or your color in the fifth reel. Suppose you are playing and get two Dragon Lights symbols and a major. It would look like this:

You’d then get 17 spins with the possibility of up to 8x multipliers. You can see the mini pays up to 3x, the minor up to 5x, and the mega up to 15x. Even with all that, you could still rip through your full allotment of spins and never really connect on much, yielding a disappointing result after a huge investment.

Conversely, you could hit something you’d expect to pay very little and have it absolutely smash for a spin or two. In that way, it’s also like a Buffalo Diamond type of volatile slot, and if you like sure things, you should stay away from this game.

Here’s my video for this one, where I admittedly took it a little early just to get some footage:
