Risk Scale:
Green (25 or so on the high end)
Minimum Play:
Five or more coins in the first three reels. Or four or more in the first three reels with at least two others in reels four or five. Or any “active” reel if it’s in one, two, or three.
Other:
Like with many slots, the coins you collect carry more weight in the first three reels than the fourth and fifth reels.
Here’s an easy one to explain with photos:
Notice this example has one coin at the top of reel one and two apiece atop columns two and three. It also shows what an “active” reel looks like in column five (notice the shiny border with at least one coin above the reel).
Just from this photo, you can use your imagination and see all three possible ways when you’d want to play this game. I should also say this is the “Jade” variant of the game; the Crimson version plays the same way but has a crimson background. Shocking, right?
Anyway, in the above photo you can see I have at least five coins in the first three reels, so that satisfies the first possibility for a play. The goal would be to trigger multiple columns at once, which will often lead to a couple of spins of meaty line hits. Once active, the reel won’t actually become wild; rather, it will become the same symbol. So if you have two or three columns triggered at once, you’ll hopefully line up some high-paying symbols since all the columns will reveal the same symbol.
Let’s look at some more examples for possible plays:
Here, you can see I only have four coins in the first three reels, but I do have three extras combined in reels four and five. As noted above, all I’d need would be would be two extras combined in reels four and five with those initial four in the first three.
Verdict: fire away!
How about in the photo below?
This admittedly isn’t a great find, but you can see I have one more spin with an “activate” reel in column three. You’ll know it’s one more spin because there’s one coin above it; had there been two coins, it would have been two spins. It would be better if that active reel were in column one or two since I’d be more likely to connect symbols from left to right, but I’d still play this one and hope for a small win.
Last photo:
You can see I have an activated wild reel in the fifth column, along with two coins in column one. But that wouldn’t satisfy any of the requirements for a possible play, so it’s not one we should invest any spins on.
For the bonus, which comes randomly, you’ll need at least four dragon-looking symbols in adjacent reels, where you’ll then get at least eight spins with the possibility for multipliers. In a limited sample, I’ve seen this bonus pay almost nothing and over 100x the bet, so figure there’s going to be a fairly big range in the payout.
There’s a secondary random feature as well where you’ll pick for a mini, minor, major, or grand. As always, it doesn’t matter where you pick since it’s predetermined, and you’ll be winning the mini or minor just about every time.
If any of the base game seems confusing, don’t worry. You can watch my fairly uneventful video below:
