Minimum Play:
Every 25 minutes or so, the game announces a “two-minute drill.” When that happens, you have two minutes to check through all the machines for leftover plays from the previous two-minute drill. As long as the prizes above the reels are more than the bet itself, go ahead and play. For instance, if you’re betting $6 and $13 in prizes are above the reels, spin until you fill out that row above the reels or they disappear.
Other:
There’s no other game like it. You’ll want to set a timer when you first come across it each day.
I couldn’t believe it at first when a friend told me this game could offer an advantage. After all, I’d seen it for a while in its “dormant” state, even though I did sometimes hear it get loud for a couple of minutes, seemingly at random. But many slot machines do that: blurt out an annoying catchphrase or two.
For this one, that annoying catchphrase is the machine’s way of telling anyone listening to check it out. With Super Bowl Jackpots, you often see four or so of the machines together, all linked on the same timer. Believe it or not, every 25 minutes or so, the machines announce a “two-minute drill” is taking place.
That’s when you’ll want to check each machine for plays:
Usually, five bets to check through range from $0.75 to $10 and you need to insert your voucher to access each bet. Some versions are multi-denom, making the process take longer.
In the photo above, notice the yellow numbers right below the timer; in this case, we have $2.40 and $38.40. As long as the prizes above the reels are more than the bet itself, you can play. For instance, if you’re betting $1.50, like in my example, and you see even $1.60 in prizes, spin until you fill out that row above the reels or they disappear. I had $40.80 in my example, a great find.
As the game notes, four spins in a row with those red circles award whatever you’ve collected. It shocked me, but the ability to check for plays is available only during the two-minute drill, so you have 120 seconds to jam your voucher into as many of these machines as you can and search for leftover prizes from the previous two-minute drills. Whatever you don’t hit in those two minutes carry over to the next two-minute drill, which will take place in another 25 minutes or so.
How bizarre!
Also, I’ve seen a couple of other machines that are not clones and can never offer any advantage. Here’s one such example:
If you didn’t know any better, you might waste your time trying to find an advantage there that doesn’t exist.
You’ll note I wrote “three spins max” in the risk section. That’s because you should play this game only in that two-minute drill when at least one of the four spots is filled out with credits. If you spin and don’t hit any red circles, the credits disappear and the play on that bet is over. So the most you could lose is three spins on each play. It’s a great low-risk, medium-reward game to add to your arsenal that some pro slot players don’t know about yet.
Also, this should go without saying, but I’ll say it anyway: Don’t waste your time picking your favorite team! You have only two minutes to check all of the machines for plays, so you don’t want to waste 10 seconds scanning the preview screen to find your favorite team.
