Risk Scale:
Green (generally under 10x the bet; 30x or so on the high end)
Minimum Play:
At least three coins in the first two columns. I also play zero coins in column one, two in column two, and three in column three. Or one in column one, zero in column two, and three in column three. Also play any active wild reel in the first three columns (see Golden Egypt explanation above).
Other:
Not as common as Golden Egypt.
This is another classic you’ll find in many casinos, sometimes next to Ocean Magic Grand, but not always. Unlike the OG Golden Egypt, this isn’t found on bar games. But enough dreaming of that beautiful Great Sphinx of Giza … what are we looking for?
Let’s start here, as this is a by-the-book minimum play: three coins in the first two columns. You spin that until you no longer have three coins in the first two columns, ideally triggering two or three wild reels at once.
Filling a column with coins makes that column go wild for however many spaces are filled. So for instance, the first column can only ever be wild for two spins or fewer, while filling the third column yields four wild spins in that reel. You’re really cooking with gas when multiple columns go wild simultaneously, so the ideal next spin would provide coins in columns one, two, and four in the example above.
OK, so three coins in the first two columns seem simple enough. Are the third, fourth, and fifth columns useless? What about something like this below?
Yeah, I’m playing that too, buddy. Columns four and five, like many games, don’t offer much value — unless you trigger multiple columns at once, in which case the game pays huge — but that third column being one away and the first being one away is enough for me. So suppose columns two, four, and five have zero coins and all we have are columns one and three being one away? Yes again!
Also play something like zero coins in column one, two in column two, and three in column three. Why? Well, you’re one away in two of the first three reels, a.k.a. the important reels since slots pay left to right, and column one isn’t too hard to fill anyway with how small it is.
OK, so the above examples seem straightforward enough. What about the one below? That surely can’t be a play, right?
Actually, it is, but just for one spin. As long as a reel in the first three is wild and there’s at least one coin above it, it’s a play. I don’t expect to make heaps long term on plays like that, but it’s still worth playing.
