Wu Jin Pen
Similar Games:
Some similarities to Magic Treasures (Dragon and Tiger)
Risk Scale:
Orange/Red (usually won’t lose more than 75x, but can sometimes drag out and be closer to 250x at the extreme high end)
Minimum Play:
Look for 14 or higher on the spins counter.
Other:
Another newer, volatile game with a small edge.
Add Wu Jin Pen to the list of advantage games I don’t get excited to see or play. Here’s what the game looks like:
If that number is 14 or higher, spin away (the one above is at six). Don’t pay any attention to the gold or jewels in the bowls. But be forewarned: The game offers a slim advantage, even if you find something promising like this (19):
That pic came from a buddy, who ended up getting cold feet because of the bet size. That’s a $40 bet, so if things went really poorly, he could conceivably be in for 250x ($10,000 in this case) before he triggered the spins. That’s always a fair course of action on something volatile, as no one is forcing you to play.
But why is this game so volatile, even if you found something well-above-average like a 19? Well, you’ll notice the game offers such prizes as double reels, jackpots, multipliers, extra coins, and spins. The other four features besides spins have no advantage elements; they happen by chance and can pay a lot or a little.
Who cares?
Me! If four-fifths of your bet is going toward things you have no advantage on, how great could the advantage ever be? Conversely, if this game only had spins you were chasing, it would surely be a much more enticing game when the number got high enough.
Yes, I will still play 14s, but I don’t blame my buddy at all for passing on a $40 bet, even at 19. To really make money in this game, you’ll usually need to trigger multiple features at once. Again, that is something you have no control over. Otherwise, if you just trigger the spins and extra coins, the bonus will most often underwhelm and you’ll lose money.
As you spin, you’ll collect coins that will occasionally bump up your spins counter. Eventually, it will trigger the feature and the play will be over. Getting at least the multiplier to go along with the spins and extra coins would be a good result.
Here’s footage of this game in action. I suggested “15 or more,” though for now I’m sticking with 14 or more. This happened to be a 13, which is a little low:
